Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CHANIVO handles personal information when you visit chanivo.com, join the Chanivo Studio early-access list, contact us, or otherwise interact with our website. It also covers Chanivo Studio, our web application at studio.chanivo.com, and the third-party accounts you connect to it. CHANIVO operates from Australia. We handle personal information consistently with applicable Australian privacy law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.

1. Who is responsible for your information

CHANIVO is the operator of this website and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For privacy questions, access or correction requests, complaints, or a copy of this policy in another accessible form, use our Contact page and select “Privacy or data request”.

2. Information we collect

  • Early-access information: your email address, optional first name, optional channel stage, and the date and time you gave consent.
  • Contact information: your name, email address, enquiry type, message, and related correspondence.
  • Technical information: limited server and security information such as IP address, browser or device details, timestamps, requested pages, and diagnostic logs that may be processed automatically by WordPress, our hosting provider, or security and caching services.
  • Administrative information: account and activity information for authorised website administrators.

We do not ask for sensitive information through the early-access or contact forms. Please do not include sensitive, financial, health, identity-document, or password information in a message to us.

3. How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you complete a form or communicate with us. Technical information may be collected automatically when the website or its security systems process a request. We do not buy email lists or use address-harvesting software.

4. Why we use your information

  • to manage Chanivo Studio early access and product invitations;
  • to send CHANIVO product updates where you have expressly consented;
  • to respond to enquiries, privacy requests, and complaints;
  • to operate, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
  • to prevent spam, fraud, misuse, or security incidents; and
  • to comply with applicable law and protect legitimate legal rights.

5. Marketing consent and unsubscribing

We only send early-access and product marketing messages where we have an appropriate basis to do so. The Early Access form asks for express consent and records when that consent was given. Marketing messages will identify CHANIVO and provide a clear way to unsubscribe. You may withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe method in a message or by contacting us. We will action valid unsubscribe requests as required by Australian law.

6. When we share information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may provide limited access to trusted service providers that help us host, secure, maintain, communicate, or operate the website, but only for the relevant service. We may also disclose information where required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect users, CHANIVO, or others from harm or misuse.

7. Hosting and overseas processing

The website and its WordPress database are hosted through Hostinger. Some technical service providers may operate or process information outside Australia. Provider infrastructure and service locations can change, so it may not always be practicable to identify every country in advance. Before we introduce new material data-sharing arrangements, analytics, advertising, or external email platforms, we will review the privacy impact and update this policy where appropriate.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

WordPress, Hostinger, and related caching or security functions may use cookies that are necessary for administration, security, performance, and basic website operation. Logged-in administrators may receive authentication and preference cookies. CHANIVO does not currently use the public website for targeted advertising. If we introduce analytics, advertising, or additional non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and implement appropriate notice or consent controls.

9. Storage, security, and retention

Early-access and contact submissions are stored privately in the WordPress administration system and are not published on the website. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain consent and unsubscribe records, to resolve enquiries, or to meet legal and security obligations. When information is no longer reasonably required, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

10. Access and correction

You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading. Use our Contact page and select “Privacy or data request”. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

11. Privacy complaints

If you believe CHANIVO has mishandled your personal information, please contact us first through the Contact page with enough detail for us to investigate. We will acknowledge and assess the complaint and aim to provide a response within 30 days. If you are not satisfied and the Australian Privacy Act applies, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

12. Children

CHANIVO is intended for creators, businesses, and adult users. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through the Early Access form. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

13. Chanivo Studio: information we process

The sections above describe our website. The sections below describe Chanivo Studio (the “Studio”), our web-based video preparation and content management service at studio.chanivo.com, and the third-party accounts you may connect to it.

  • Account and authentication data: account identifiers and information required to sign you into the Studio.
  • TikTok connection data: TikTok user identifiers, display information made available through the approved scope, OAuth access tokens, refresh tokens, token expiry information, and authorization status. We do not receive or store your TikTok password.
  • Content and project data: videos, captions, transcripts, thumbnails, publishing selections, scheduled dispatch times, and related project metadata that you provide.
  • Operational data: upload status, error messages, timestamps, and limited technical logs needed to secure, diagnose, and operate the service.

14. Chanivo Studio: how we use information

We process information only as needed to provide features you request, including editing media, generating captions and exports, connecting an authorized TikTok account, dispatching a creator-selected video at the selected time, uploading that video to the creator’s TikTok inbox as a draft, displaying status, preventing misuse, and troubleshooting the service. We do not sell or rent personal information and do not use TikTok data for unrelated advertising or profiling.

15. TikTok authorization and posting

TikTok is connected through TikTok’s official OAuth authorization flow. Chanivo Studio uses user.info.basic to identify the connected account and video.upload to upload creator-selected content to TikTok as a draft. TikTok notifies the creator in the TikTok app, where the creator must review, edit if desired, and complete the post. Chanivo Studio does not publish to a TikTok account that has not granted authorization.

We share information with TikTok only when required to authenticate your account, transfer content you selected, or retrieve the status of that transfer. We do not share user content with third parties for their own marketing.

16. Chanivo Studio: retention and deletion

Project content and operational records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Studio, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. OAuth credentials are retained while the TikTok connection remains active or until they expire, are revoked, or are deleted.

You may disconnect TikTok in the Studio or revoke access in your TikTok account settings. To request deletion of your Studio account, saved TikTok credentials, project data, or other personal information, email hello@lotusandwattle.au with the subject “Chanivo Studio Data Deletion Request”. We may ask for information necessary to verify that the request concerns your account. Verified requests will be handled within a reasonable period subject to applicable legal retention requirements. Withdrawing authorization prevents future TikTok actions but does not reverse transfers already completed at your request.

17. Changes to this policy

We will review this policy as CHANIVO’s products and information-handling practices develop. The “Last updated” date will show when material changes were made. This policy describes our current practices and does not limit any rights available under applicable law.
